Description: 1989 was known as the Second Summer of Love in the UK, where it celebrated this new form of music (House/Rave) and brought so much happiness into so many people's lives. It was an alien type of music at the time, and it swept the nation (and beyond), and has grown into what we see today as dance music or 'EDM.'  However, we want to go back to where it all started and  we want bring it to the Mooredale sailing club. We will be playing music from that era, and beyond. So some songs or styles of tunes may not be familiar, so the only thing we ask you to bring is an open mind and a willingness to want to dance. If you don't want to dance, then just bring your positive vibes to the door. I mean Mooredale Sail club is like that already hey? But the beautiful thing about this music scene it allowed people to leave behind our troubles and come and just let ourselves be free. And that ultimately is the night itself.

The Night Itself: DJ Kingpin (aka Ivan Madeira club member) will be bringing his vinyl and turntables, after DJing for 21 years (don't let the baby face fool you), and will want to introduce you all to some songs you know, and maybe a bunch you don't. The genres that we'll play will range from 80s Acid house, breakbeat rave, hardcore, jungle, UK Garage, Dupstep, Grime and some classic 80s pop tunes (to mix it up). There may be a playlist at random times, even special guest DJs But all we is just want to dance from sunset... to sunrise. (That's a challenge for me even to write it, and I'm a young buck still).

What can I bring: I call it house party rules. Everything within reason right? Bring yourself and a friend/partner. Bring some booze for yourself and maybe a couple to share. Bring any food to chuck on the BBQ for yourself and for a couple of people to share. It just helps to keep the party going, and keeps the night as low cost for all the attendees as possible.

What should I wear: With parties and themes, in this case it's totally up to you. Dress how you'd want to. You can take the spirit of 89 literally and come dressed as a throw back to the era, or you can just dress as if you're going to a business meeting. It's up to you, keep it spirit up.

Cost: Pay what you can (suggested donation of $10)
